Adrian Charles Smith

Adrian Charles Smith is an artist based in Meeanjin/Brisbane. He uses painting to explore the complexities of human behaviour, often drawing from everyday life, technology, place and personal experience. Through colour, form and mark making, his work blurs the boundaries between abstraction and representation, encouraging the viewer to spend more time with the work. Smith holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Queensland College of Art and has been a finalist in several major Australian art prizes, including the Sir John Sulman Prize, Brisbane Portrait Prize, Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship and Clayton Utz Art Award. His work is held in Artbank and private collections.
